NEW SHOW IN THE WORKS - BURMA BOUND:
I am working hard on this "new twist" on an older trip. This adventure in Vietnam, Cambodia and Burma (Myanmar) had some surprizing chance meetings with fascinating people. Hoepfully this will PREMIERE in Vancouver along with a rehosting of some of the others shows (Thanks to those who have requested the return of Top of the World). Stay tuned.

AFRICA! The next big adventure is TANZANIA, and you can come along for the safari portion. (There are only a couple spots left).
As always, it is impossible to know what this show will be till the trip unfolds, but plans include: the safari, spending some time in the "bush" with a few Masai Warriors, climbing Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru and maybe bopping into Kenya and the Congo. We shall see! |

SHOW DATES UPCOMING: Vancouver dates coming... maybe ALL FOUR SHOWS (Trekking in Tibet, Solo in South America, Top of the world, Burma Bound.
I hope I can do BC Interior shows and Ottawa (have not forgot you)! If you want to help get them out there, please spread the word and ask friends to get on the announcement list email WRJ |

THE LOSS OF A YOUNG TRAVELLER: Owen Richel who has travelled to Italy, Thailand, Mexico (twice), L.A. and Nova Scotia (5 times!) sadly passed away at the tender age of 5 years old after an 11 month battle with Leukemia. I got to hang out with Owen while staying at his house in March of 2006 while hosting shows in Edmonton. He was a very nice and smart boy and will be missed by all that knew him. Dad Darryl Richel is the host of Radio Outpost and both he and his wife Charlotte are avid travellers and Owen took to travelling like a pro. He will be missed. |

CONGRATULATIONS: Victoria's Colin Angus and Julie Mafei have been nominated as National Geographic's Travellers of the year
by circumnavigating the globe on human power. They rowed across the Atlantic for one portion! What an amazing feat!
Well Done Colin and Julie! |

TRAVELLING SHIRTS: Thanks to people who are taking the Nuclear Yellow "JUICY" shirt around the world.. and to those who had creative uses for the "I LOVE BOOBIES" shirt.... One Edmonton group bought shirts and formed an I love Boobies team for the walk for Breast Cancer event (with blue socks and shoes of course)! I hope they send a photo! More info on the shirts. |
