VIDEO: Hawaii South Point Cliff Jump:
A jaunt to the Big Island of Hawaii at Easter put us in the Southern Most point of the USA… aptly called “South Point”…. It is a bit harder than it might look to willingly toss yourself off that edge. To make it worse, this was low tide! making the drop more like 45 to 50 foot (and yes there also could possibly be sharks in those waters)
CRAZY HAWAIIAN FACTS:
1) Hawaii consumes more SPAM MEAT PRODUCTS than any other place in the world!
2) MACADAMIA NUTS are imported INTO Hawaii from Australia to sell to tourists… OZ does it cheaper so most are imported. Pineapple gets imported too I hear.
3) The HULA Competition in Hilo on April 15 has people lining up 12 hours early to get a good seat. They scream like its a rock show!
DISTRACTING STREET NAMES?:
Two car accidents happened right in front of our eyes… One on “NAPOOPOO” Drive (pronounced Napo opo O). I got to direct traffic around the mess by being first on scene. It was great that cars passed saying thanks and giving the famous “Hang Loose” gesture. The second accident near “Puu Nani Drive” tore two cars apart. Luckily no one was injured. With most vehicles being BIG 4x4s that drive like crazy, I guess it is not surprising.

Thanks to 2000 Teachers who saw my show at the Greater Edmonton Teachers Conference. A 2000 seat room and 100 reputedly turned away. Also thanks to EVERYONE who came to ANY of the recent shows… 9 shows in 4 cities in 7 weeks. Holy Cow! Thanks to all sponsors and supporters too!
MARILYN WIELDS A KNIFE:
I photographed Marilyn Manson for the Georgia Straight. I was given only 1 song to shoot. What a challenge. I have one image where he was reaching out to my camera. Glad it was not the microphone-knife.
MAY DAY LONG WEEKEND:
I hope you and your family had a great long weekend! I invited friends to come roasting marshmallows on the Sunshine Coast by suggesting "Come roast along with me." Hope you had a good holiday!
